| No not really. Most people take up martial arts to become fit. As long as you are able to do gentle exercise you can participate in lessons. If you have any medical conditions that may affect you exercising speak to your instructor before you begin.
After your first few lessons you may experience aching muscles which is absolutely normal. We recommend that you don’t push yourself too hard and take it easy for the first few lessons. |

| 3. I want my children to join what is the best age for them to start? |
At Hadri Taekwondo we generally have students from the age of 7 and above. We are happy for younger children to join and have had children as young as 5 start training at the club.
Our “Little Dragons” class on Saturday is focused at children between the ages of 4 - 10 years old and this is a dedicated class for children.
Parents must appreciate younger children have a lower concentration span and you must not expect your child to be sittings exams for at least 6 to 8 months (this is dependent on the child’s ability). |
| |
| 4. I have never done martial arts before can I still join? |
| Yes you can. Majority of the people that join have never done any type of martial arts before. We welcome all grades, abilities and especially love introducing new people to Taekwondo. |
| |
| 5. How do I know if Taekwondo is right for me? |
You really don’t until you try a few sessions. We recommend all new students to come in and try a few classes, which gives you the opportunity to meet the instructors, the other students, ask some questions and experience it for your self. |
| |
| 6. What do I wear on my first lesson? |
| It’s best to wear loose clothing e.g. jogging bottoms and a t-shirt so you can stretch and kick with ease. |
| |
